Lunch & Learn: Zero Waste

Sunday, December 10, 12pm-1pm | Now is the best time to learn about reducing waste, since we create more waste during the end
of year holidays than any other time of year.

Join us Sunday, December 10 from noon – 1:00 p.m. to hear from Zero Waste Washington
how we can advocate for a waste-free and healthy world.
The nonprofit Zero Waste Washington seeks to make systemic changes by enacting laws and
changing policies and programs.

Heather Trim, Executive Director of Zero Waste Washington, will share:
● How its pilot Furniture Bank restores furniture to donate to refugees and immigrants.
● Recent legislative successes.
● Proposed legislation for 2024 - and how we can advocate to get the laws passed.
● How waste prevention and recycling reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
 
You are welcome to attend in person or via Zoom. After you register, you will receive a
confirmation email with the Zoom link.

Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall at 11:50 a.m., following the 10:30 worship service.
The program will begin at 12:15 p.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.
